Sergio Pérez is an experienced driver having previously driven for Sauber, McLaren, Force India, and Racing Point. He won his first Formula One Grand Prix at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix.
Despite that win Sergio found himself looking for a seat in the 2021 season and when all seemed lost grasped the last drive on the grid partnering Max.
This was possibly one of the most inspired decisions and he went from strength to strength throughout the season, picking up valuable points and yet another win on the Baku street circuit.
Nick named ‘Checo’ by his adoring home fans he did everything that was asked of him by the team and was the perfect wingman in enabling his team mate Max Verstappen to win his first World Drivers Championship title.
He would finish a commendable 4th in the drivers standings at the close of the ’21 season.
